RECENT TOUR OF TRACE AGRI-SCIENCE CENTER, LEXINGTON KENTUCKY

A new equine Agri-Science Vo-Tech Campus for 250 students was toured last month by the Lexington Bluegrass Chapter. The school's goal is to promote Green Collar career education by integrating the sustainable features of a school facility with the schools education mission.

 

Site includes rainwater catchment, constructed wetlands, permeable pavement, paddocks, pastures, vegetable gardens and orchards.

The schools sustainability goals are:

Education + Inspiration: Site/Bldg as Teaching Tools

Regional Identity + Ecology: Appropriate to place

Site Capacity + Use: siting lightly on a Greenfield
